Homemade Haircuts

To save money I cut #1 and Snug's hair. Our new house has an outlet on the deck so the whole mess can be outside! What a blessing!
Since summer and warm weather is quickly approaching, I went to summer cuts for them. Snug decided he wanted his spike back this year, but I am going to try to keep it a bit more subtle...he is getting older.

Here's his finished product. I'm not beautician, but I can live with the results.

Everyone's favorite part about hair cutting day (about every 6-8 weeks) is that they get a sucker or a piece of candy. Candy is not part of our kid's diets, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get them to sit for a haircut.

Little Monkey was THRILLED to get candy. And then he acted pretty crazy for about an hour. I tried to cut his bangs a bit, but I made him look awful. He's going to have to go to the hairdresser I'm afraid.

After haircuts the boys enjoyed some basketball time. At least two hours a day are dedicated to shooting hoops if it is nice weather.

I keep trying to get a good jumping picture of Snug. He loves to jump and slam dunk. I will have to post some video too. LMM has quite the accuracy.

Do you cut your kids/spouse's hair? Have you ever tried?

I shave Danny and Luke's hair. I love when the weather is nice enough to do it outside, too!

Ginny's hair has only been cut a couple of times. Luke's cousin is a hairdresser, so she or I usually do it.

I've cut my husband's hair for about 2 1/2 years now. At first it wasn't a pretty sight, but I'm actually good at it now! The clippers have more than paid for themselves now and it saves us so much money!

I used to cut Dan's hair, but now he shaves his head so he does his own. ;-) I used to do the boys', but they like their hair a little longer now, so I take them to my salon. I've thought it would be nice to get some lessons from a professional to save some money!

I cut Dan and Jackson's hair... Well Dan does most of his own with the clippers and I just touch up. Jackson is a real challenge though because I cut his hair with scisors and getting an 18 month old to hold still for that can be quite interesting, it's definitely a two person job. :-)

Haircuts at home are The Best! We do this, well The Mr. does this. Being a cop he keeps the typical buzz cut. I got him clippers when we got married and ever since he's been buzzing his own hair. The kids are next! No that it's so nice outside the outside barber is IN! :-)
Love the pics of the kid and their new cuts ~ cool!

My husband does his own, I touch it up..and since Gabby decided to give herself a haircut months back, I've had to touch hers up and layer it back in....Paige's I just trimmed the top b/c the bottom was curling so cute and the top was just STRAIGHT. And as soon as I cut it, it curled. If I had known it would do that, I would have done hers sooner! :D lol Mine? Well, it's down to my waist and hasn't been cut since October/November last year...and that was just a blunt cut to get rid of ends and stragling layers...I'm over due for another one! :)

I've cut Brad's hair for the last 13 years :). And Riley's for his whole 4 1/2 yrs of life. I trim Naomi's hair every couple months, and I plan on cutting Elijah's as well. It's a great way to save a bunch of money! And then I get to go to the salon a couple times a year and get mine done! :)

Your hair is super long by the way! I don't think I've ever seen you in person with hair that long!

Ken cuts his own hair with clippers and I do the straight lines. I haven't tried doing Finn's yet, but I'm very tempted.

How adorable! You did a great job!

Yeah, I think we are going to have to pay for Cubbie's hair to get cut too. It's getting a bit long.

I starting cutting Jesse's hair (I think) when we were just dating. I cut some of his friends' hair, too. I do Alex's hair, too. I've trimmed Danica's hair a few times, though I want hers long... and also it's tricky because of her (awesome) curls. I'll cut Tristan's hair when it's time, too. We had clippers that someone gave us when I first started Jesse's hair, and just got a real set a few weeks ago when the first one died. And we've already saved money with it!
