The Big Day

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for for quite awhile now. We are going to a GI doctor at Children's Medical Center. **

I don't know if I am more nervous about what they will discover or that they won't discover anything. I think the unknown is just the hardest part.

Here is some perspective. I am taking photos in for the doctor to better see a big picture of Baby J. It is really hard to look at him and think anything is wrong. He is alert, smiley, and cute as a button. Here are a few that make the cut, and I think you'll know why I am so urgent to take him.

This is Baby J last week weighing 13 lbs 12 1/2 oz, wearing his 0-3 month snowsuit.
This is Baby J October 18, 2008. Not sure his exact weight at this time, but this is the same snowsuit.

This picture was taken October 4, 2008. He is the baby on the right. My cousin Melissa's son is on the left. He wore that same outfit today March 12, 2009. It seemed a bit tighter in the crotch/leg area than it looks in this picture, but no different in the torso and arms. #1 pointed out to me that it was pre-cloth diaper days. Once the cloth came off, it fit the same.
November 4, 2008 14lbs 13 oz 26 inches
December 26, 2008 13lbs 11oz 26 inches
February 27, 2009 13 lbs 12 1/2 oz 26 inches
March 11, 2009 13 lbs, 12 1/2 oz 26 inches
I would like to thank God for my beautiful boy and the life changing chance to be his mom. I would like to ask God to please place His hand of protection on his little body, because he is just so little and I am just so incapable.
1. Please pray for wisdom for our doctor. I am so thankful to have a friend from Cedarville going with us to be my extra ears and take notes. Her son has seen the same doctor at the same hospital and she is also a nurse.

2. Pray for #1 who will be sitting in a waiting room with 4 children 4 and under. Lucky man. Ok, lucky me that he is willing to do that. We really can't afford to cancel Draycare again after being without kids all last week, and their parents can't take many more days off to be home with them either. He is still feeling all of the effects of his Grave's disease.
3. Please pray that I will hold it together in the doctor's office. I need to be cool, calm, and collected.
Thank you, thank you so much for your prayers.
**because Snug was a preemie, and at one point labeled "failure to thrive" (although his growth was nothing like this) he was also referred to be seen at the same hospital, same office (different DR). His appointment was more than a month out, like this one was initially supposed to be, but there wasn't any rush...just making sure everything was A-OK.
Guess what the date of that appointment was? March 13, 2007. Exactly 2 years ago tomorrow...or for most of you who are reading this...2 years ago today. We remembered this interesting detail because I went to go see E and her mom that same day and it was the day after she was born...and today was her 2nd birthday. Weird, huh?

I'm so glad Katie is going with you.It makes me feel better for you. Those GI docs are my favorite. Seriously. If it werent for them... I just dont know.
Anyways- I'll keep checking your twitter and I also asked Katie for an update in case you dont get a chance (which I would totally undestand!).
And it is a little creepy how all your dates keep matching up. hmmmmm

Hi! I found your blog from a comment left on MckMama's blog requesting prayer for you. I was just wondering if anyone has ever suggested having your son tested for cystic fibrosis? I have a son with CF and I know that failure to thrive (along with some other things) is a symptom. I hope your son recovers from the flu very quickly...we will pray for him.
